Choo Choo, It Must be Genetic

For the last several months my son has developed a growing fascination with trains. At it doesn’t help any that the train goes through my backyard. So when the train passes by several times a day, my son is sitting at either, my front door, or his room window, and while the train is passing you can hear a faint “choo, choo”.

The first time i heard him do this i was shocked, because 1 I couldn’t figure out what was doing that sound, and 2 my son decided to say choo, choo before food. My son is obsessed with food. all kinds of food he is no picky eater! However, if he finds something he doesn’t like, or if he doesn’t want it at the moment, he will let you know! He is defensibly my kid.

Back onto topic: trains. I think it may be genetic, the love of trains. I have no scientific proof, but come on. My dad is in love with trains. At Christmas time he has not 1, not 2, but three trains in the house.  One of those is in the house all year long.  I think they are pretty cool too, not to the extent of my dad, but close.  Plus, before either of us, if i remember correctly my great grandpa loved trains as well. And now my son has a thing for them…hmmmm it must be genetic. i guess its a plus for my one year old that we live next to the train. Now what is he gonna do when we move away?

Anyways, i think i approve of this creative outlook for him, and once he is older im going to get him toy trains, and when hes much older start him out on his first model train set. Although, my dad might beat me to that one, we shall see in the years to come.
